Why we built this
Most online PDF tools upload your document to a server for every single operation — merge, split, compress, sign. That means your contracts, IDs, and financial records pass through someone else's infrastructure, governed by a privacy policy you have to take on faith. We thought that was backwards. Browsers are powerful enough to do this work locally, so we built a workspace that does exactly that.
How it works
The default mode runs every operation inside your browser tab using a Web Worker. Your file is read into memory, processed on your device, and written back — nothing is uploaded. For heavier jobs the browser can't handle alone, server processing requires a separately configured backend and is not available in the guest workspace. You can use the browser tools immediately, with no account.
